Bright Eyes in Birmingham

So Friday morning we left around 11:00 am to get to the venue. We probably got there around 12. There was only one other person in line, which I ended up making friends with.

Bright Eyes's tour bus was right next to venue, so we were watching them walk in and out of it. I probably could have met them during that but I have this weird thing about bothering people. If they wanted to talk to us they would have came up to the line, and there wasn't but four of us so. Conor walked out and I think my heart skipped a beat. I just kinda stared at him as he walked by.

The people who worked the venue were SUPER GREAT. One of the guys that worked there asked us if we wanted anything to drink and brought us some free water and soda.

We lined up inside the venue at about 6 PM and waited in that line for an hour. Of course we had some people thinking they were going to jump in front of the line, but the awesome venue staff didn't allow that. I was facing the door and it started to open AND IT WAS NATE. He peeked out the door and quickly shut it. I laughed so hard. I don't remember what time it was when we got down to the stage, but it seemed like forever until The Great Book Of John came on. I couldn't understand anything the lead singer said. So I can't really say how I feel about them.

Then after they played forever, First Aid Kit came on. THEY ARE GREAT AND ADORABLE. I really enjoyed them despite my back and feet hurting so bad. They're from Sweden and they said Bright Eyes is their favorite band and they're so happy to tour with them.

Bright Eyes came on finally, They opened with Another Travelin' Song, followed by Old Soul Song. I was so excited. At one point Conor stepped down on whatever was in front of the barricade, and see okay, this barricade was the worst barricade EVER. Last time I checked, barricades aren't supposed to move, cause ya know that's kinda the point of a barricade... WELL they had moved it back after First Aid Kit's set and by the time Conor had stepped down on that thing, it was already pushed back up. AND MY CAMERA WAS BETWEEN THE BARRICADE AND THE THINGS CONOR WAS STANDING ON. I was about to cry, I didn't think I was going to get it out before it got squished, BUT I DID! Let's just say I didn't put it back down there again. Before that happened I held Conor's hand and it was lovely, although his hands were a bit sweaty, it was still awesome.

This is probably going to be all scattered around because I can't really remember the order of the awesome stuff that happened. They started playing Shell Games at one point, Conor was on the keyboard thing, and he started the song over and over, I'm pretty sure I heard "Took the fireworks and the vanity" at least 10 times.

They played Lua with First Aid Kit and it was so amazing.

Conor talked about the immigration law that's trying to be passed here in Alabama, everything he said I agreed with 100%. He said they don't play in Arizona because of the law they have up there, and he was a hypocrite for playing in AL, because this law was even worse than the one in AZ. He made so many good points and I'm just like WOW CONOR I JUST LOVE YOU.

They played Cartoon Blues and that's like one of my favorite songs, when Conor sings and he does hand motions and stuff that go along with the song like this picture "You start to smell that human smell"

He was also spitting everywhere, which was gross, and since i was front and center it got on me... He has acid spit. Literally, I'm not joking.

The last song they played was One For Me, One For You and he held my hand again and it was magical. He also slapped my hand which wasn't magical, I just was like the pokerface meme, and then the okay meme. He also crowd surfed, he did this the first time directly over my head. I just saw his body coming for my head and I ducked, I wasn't even tryin, thankfully there was this guy behind me, so.
